Anniversary

Last Saturday on December 20th Jason and I were able to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. As Jason would say we've been together three long years. However, in my mind time has gone by so fast. Although the roads were bad we traveled to Salt Lake where Jason had once again made wonderful plans. We stayed at the Little America and he took me to The Melting Pot for dinner. I know that I ate way to much but it was soooooo..... good. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My dad offered us 9th row tickets to see Neal Diamond in concert and even though we didn't know all the songs it was a good time. I think we had a more exciting time laughing at the drunk old women dancing and singing at the concert. On a more spiritual note we were able to go to the temple and do sealings which we have made a tradition every year on this special day. There is no better place in the world to be than in the Temple. What an amazing experience to kneel across from Jason at the alter and represent families that have been waiting for so long to be together. I am so grateful for Jason and the unconditional love that he has shown to me. I don't know why I have been so blessed to find such a wonderful person to love me. The past three years have been the happiest years of my life. I certainly hope that we have many many more anniversaries.

The blessing of good health

Since I've been working the past year and a half as a nurse I can't help but think almost everyday how lucky I am for good health. In my 24 years of life I've only experienced one hospital visit after a car accident and everything ended up being okay.
Today we did surgery on a 44 year old who was morbidly obese with uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled hypertension, sleep apnea, about 15 allergies, living on 3 liters of oxygen every minute of the day. She was a recovery nurses worst nightmare. After work I couldn't help thinking about how thankful I am for my good health that I so often take for granted.
What a blessing it is to be able to get up everyday without worrying about taking medications or checking my blood sugar. I feel so lucky to be able to get up at walk around my house without getting so tired that I have to consistently stop to catch my breathe.
This is just something that I have been comptemplating lately and I thought I should express how greatful I am. There are so many blessings that we take for granted and I definately think that this is one of them.

12 days of Christmas Tag

I know... I know... I haven't been very good about blogging lately. I always think about it and talk myself out of it because I don't think I have anything that anyone would want to hear about. I was checking out some of my friends blogs and Stefany tagged me so I thought I could do this.

"On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me..."

1 Embarrassing moment: I don't like this question.

2 Best Friends: Jason and my family

3 Things I buy regularly: Gas... (It gets expensive traveling 70 miles everyday to work and back), food, stuff for our house

4 Places I want to go: Russia, Hawaii, New York, Italy

5 Goals for the upcoming year: Be more patient, cook dinner more often (poor Jason spends many nights cooking his own food), try to motivate myself to run another half-marathon, get a lot of work done on our house, be more positive.

6 Things most people don't know about me: I dislike talking on the phone unless there is a good reason. Texting drives me crazy, it takes me 10 minutes to write what I could say in 2 seconds. I really want a dog but I know I can't have one and that it is a silly unnecessary want but every time I see a puppy it makes me want one. I am obsessed with the color BROWN...thanks to my days as a Poke at UW I'm guessing. I am very ticklish.

7 Things I would never say....I would never deny my faith in Jesus Christ, I would never deny my love for Jason, I'm sure there are 5 swear words I would never say.

8 Things I love about the Christmas Season: The warm fuzzy feeling it brings, hot chocolate, remembering the miracle of Jesus Christ's birth, being with family, the decorations and all of the lights, the smells, our anniversary, my mom's tree.

9 Things I say to my kids: I don't have kids......maybe that's why I want a dog so much.

10 Things I do alot: Go to work, give patients lots of narcotics, complain (I really need to work on this one), tell Jason "I LOVE YOU", think about the future, eat fattening food, drive my car, watch sports, talk my families ears off, and drink chocolate milk.

11 Things I would rather not live without: Jason, the Gospel, my Family, my education, a home, my car, love, a washer and dryer, agency, forgiveness, and Chocolate.

12 People I tag: Melissa, Alisa, Maria, and Camille and any 8 other people that would like to do this.

Update

Wow.... time has really zipped by the past few weeks and I havn't taken much time to update our blog. On October 30th Jason and I became proud owners of a home. I would say a new home but seeing how it was built in 1920 it's not really new but it is new to us and we are so excited. I really do love it. We are currently doing some repairs that we wanted to make before we move in so we arn't living in Evanston yet but the time is drawing near. Our families have both been so great to help us out with the work on it and we feel so blessed for all that they have done for us.
We do have pics of the house but they are in Evanston so I will try to post them sometime this week.

Happy Birthday My Love... Lets Go Skydiving

Well Jason turns the big 25 today! ahhh..... Can you believe a quarter of a century old.. wow! Yesterday, for his birthday I surprised him and took him SKYDIVING!!!! You should have seen the look on his face because he had no idea. Everyone that knows Jason knows how adventuresome he is though so it was a good surprise. It was the most exciting thing I think that I have ever done and Jason had a blast also. I'm so glad that I decided to do it with him because it's a memory that we will have forever. We both got pictures and DVDs of our skydives and my dad went with us also. All I have to share are some of my pics and my dad's since the cameraman that took Jason's was having a hard time with his computer but I'll share them when we get them in the mail along with our videos. Some of the pics are so funny but that's what happens to your face when you're falling from 13,000 feet at 120mph for 60 seconds. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON.......!!!!!!!
The look on his face when he finds out!

Into the Future

May 2008: Laramie, WY. THERE WE WERE, done with school ready to move onto bigger and better things. Looking forward to a new home, new town, new people, new ward, new church callings, new jobs etc, etc, etc....... What an exciting time in our lives. What the future held we were unsure about but so excited for. We were ready to take on the world and have money like everyone is supposed to after completing their bachelors degree... RIGHT?

October 2008: Fort Bridger, WY. HERE WE ARE, living with my parents right back at the beginning.. haha don't get me wrong I'm so grateful for my parents and their willingness to put up with me again after being out of the house for 5 years, and they were even nice enough to let me bring along my wonderful husband to double the occupancy of their household.
Anyway what I'm really trying to get at is I miss LARAMIE!
* I miss my job at Gem City... Even though the people I work with in Evanston are so nice to me.
* I miss our ward... It's hard to feel like we belong permanently in my mom's ward when we know we're moving.
* I miss intramural sports... I have a hard time getting motivated to exercise for some reason.
* I miss our little apartment that I was so excited to get out of...I think the thing that's been the hardest is that I never knew how much stress it is to buy a home. I thought it would be such an exciting thing but I really dislike it so far. We backed out of a home that we were going to buy and fix up because we figured Jason probably won't have a lot of time with his new job and all. Now we're back to square one looking at all of our options again. It is a huge decision. I know that it will all work out though.
I know that I need to stop thinking about the past and listen to President Monson and start looking at today. Things really aren't so bad here I can think of a lot of great things going on in our lives to.
*We get to see both of our families almost every day and that has been such a blessing.
*I get to spend a lot of time with my mom again which I have missed living in Laramie.
* We've got to see McKell play volleyball for the first time this season and let me tell you she is dang good!
*And many more things have been wonderful changes with this move. I will try to be more positive but I figure it's okay to miss the past as long as you are positive about the future! RIGHT?

Celebrating a Wonderful Life!

This past weekend we were able to celebrate Jason's grandma Hermese's life. She past away on the 21st after 90 amazing years. Jason's mom and her siblings threw her a 90th birthday bash over labor day and many of her family members were able to attend.

This past week I was able to hear so many amazing stories about her life and it made me reflect on my own life and if I am living the way that I should be. She was such an amazing person. I was only privileged to be able to know her for 3 years but I still feel so blessed. I am also so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for the knowledge that I have that families can be together again. I am also grateful for my husband and his family and for the wonderful people that they are.
I just wanted to share some pictures from the funeral of Jason's family.

My Archery Hunting Pros and Cons

I had the bitterly, wonderful opportunity to go archery hunting up in Northern Wyoming with my Father and Brother this past week. Since archery hunting requires your undivided attention at being utterly quiet for hours on end it gave me lots of time to think about my blog and I decided as my mind wandered that I would explain what was going through my head during the long days on the steep mountains. I will share what I came up with as my pros and cons of hunting.
Con: Getting out of bed at 4:00am when it is cold.
Pro: Hearing the excitement in my dads voice at 4:00am as he says, "are you guys ready for this?"
Con: Hiking up a steep mountain in the dark with miles of nothing but trees and wild animals around.
Pro: Right before daylight having the chance to hear the elk bugling all around you and also being able to watch the sun come up.
Con: Hiking to the top of the steepest mountain you've ever been on before daylight. and feeling like you are going to die.
Pro: Once atop the mountain hearing my dad say, "we do more before 7:00am than most people do all day!" (and he isn't kidding)
Con: Being treated like a kid by my dad as he tells me, "if you slip off the log while crossing the river, just stand up."
Pro: Watching my dad fall off the log while crossing the river laying completely flat in the water, and having the opportunity to say "Dad, why didn't you just stand up?"
Con: The multiple times my heals blistered due to the hill climbing.
Pro: The opportunity to be 15 yards away from the biggest bull elk I've ever seen and having it bugling right in front of me.
Con: Not having the opportunity to shoot at an elk
Pro: Not having the carry an elk 4 miles downhill back to camp.
Con: Not having Jason there with me because I know how much more he would have enjoyed the hunt and hike.
Pro: Having a dad and brother that will put up with me for a few days no matter how much I complained.
Thanks Dad and Mark I love you guys!

Leaving Our Past

Well in my mind summer is officially over according to the "colder" weather and the changes occuring in our busy lives. I guess I will start out my blog by introducing our family and where it all began. Jason and I met at the University of Wyoming in April of 2005 during a friendly pick up basketball game. Of course he caught my eye after seeing his mad athletic skills and since I was the only girl there I was in turn able to catch his eye. We dated through the summer and were engaged before school started in the fall. We were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on December 20, 2005.
Prior to our meeting Jason was able to serve a full time successful mission for the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Yekaterinburg, Russia. This was a very wonderful part of his life
We are now both officially Alumni of the University of Wyoming. I finnished school with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 2007 and Jason graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in finance this last May 2008. We are both very happy to be done with school even though Jason still doesn't feel like he is done.

After completing my Bachelors degree I was lucky enough to be offered the "Perfect" nursing job. I have been working the past 15 months at Gem City Bone and Joint as a Perioperative nurse. No night shifts, weekends, or call! What more could any graduate nurse ask for? It really has been a wonderful experience and I have been able to work with the best nurses!

Jason has just accepted a job with Edward Jones as a Financial advisor. This job will move us from Laramie to Evanston, Wyoming. We wil be living closer to our families and are very excited about this transition in our lives. The most excited part of this move for me is that hopefully I will have a washer and dryer.
We will miss so many things about Laramie. Intermural sports , having so many friends our age to do things with, our cozy little apartment (the first and only place we have ever lived together), the Spring Creek Ward (our first ward family), our jobs (Horizon Home Repair and Gem City), and so many other things maybe even school. Or not?
My last day at Gem City was last Thursday, August 28, 2008. I was so suprised that my co-workers threw me a going away party and I was so sad leaving work knowing that I would no longer be a part of the Gem City team.
My Manager Gail and myself
Stacey, Amy and Donna smile for the cameraMelissa still running the desk since the accident

As I am leaving onto a new career I will be sad to see all of you go. Thanks for the memories and the experience. All of my love.
Well I don't have many of our pictures since we are in the process of moving and half of our stuff is at my parents house in Fort Bridger. I hope to get a little better at blogging and will try to share more pictures later.
