a FeW oF mY fAvOrItE tHiNgS

I don't blog as often as I would like to but I have a hard time trying to find interesting things to blog about. I decided that I would do a blog about some of my favorite things around my house. I'm sure that there are some forgotten items on my list but here are twelve of my household favorite things in random order.
12. I absolutely love my toothbrush. I never had an electric toothbrush until I married Jason and I decided to try using one. I can never go back. Whenever we go on vacation or I have to use my regular toothbrush I never feel like my teeth are clean. I think I am obsessed! Who doesn't want clean teeth?

11. Many of my favorites are things that Jason has made me. They are beautiful and also very special because I have seen all the time and talent it has taken to make them. This TV stand was made by Jason and my dad when we got married since we didn't have anything else to put our TV on. I LOVE IT!
10. This is the newest addition to our home. When I graduated from college Jason told me he wanted to make me a cedar chest. It only took him about 2 years but here it is. It is really big so we put it in our spare bedroom. The outside is aspen wood but Jason lined the inside with cedar to give it the good smell. The lettering on the outside says Jason & Lindsey Kennedy Dec. 20, 2005 with the SLC and Mt. Timp. temples on it.
9.This is our bed frame and if you can see Jason made matching night stands that look just like out of the cabella's magazine. He also made the wedding pic frame above our bed. Sometimes I just lay in bed and marvel at how good looking and cheep our furniture is. It is awesome to have a talented husband.
8. This clock was given to me for Christmas from Jason's family. It matches our house and colors so well. I love big clocks I think that a clock can make a whole room look good.

7. Grandma Hermese's couch. When Jason's sweet grandmother passed away last fall nobody else wanted her awesome and huge couch so we took it. It makes me smile. I am picky about couches because when Jason and I watch movies we like to lay down and it is hard to do when your couch isn't long enough. This is definitely not a problem with our couch. It is also really deep and I am so grateful that we got it and have it to remind us of Jason's sweet grandma.

6. My Scentsy candle. I worry when we have visitors over that our house will smell funny. This is something I worried about growing up when I would go to some houses and they had a certain smell. I always want my house to either not smell at all or to smell good. I think this can be accomplished by my scentsy candle. I don't know how Jason feels about it but I love it. My new favorite scent is Pomegranate Orange. YUMMY!

5. Our family pics. I know the frame of Jason and I is not that good and doesn't match but I'm still looking for the perfect frame. I love hanging our family pics with my cute sign. I also love my family so this is very appropriate for one of my favorite things.
4. Our kitchen table. Everyone that knows us would agree that Jason and I are cheep so when we went searching for a kitchen table we wanted to get a good deal. We bought a table on clearance because it had defects but we figured once again that Jason could fix them. Lucky us... we saved soooo much money and I love our table.

3. My homemade frame. I asked for a picture frame for Christmas from my mom a couple of years ago and she couldn't find it so she made me this frame. The rod is a curtain hanger and she sewed the cloth. I think it is cute. I like it much more than the store made version.

2. My KitchenAid. YAY... what girl doesn't want her very own kitchenaid? It can do so many things and it just looks good in my kitchen sitting there all shiny. The picture says it all.

1. My all time favorite thing in my house is....... JASON... and my basketball... lol... Just kidding I do love my basketball but I think that Jason wins. Don't they look good together?

I hope that this was a little interesting and I hope to see some of your favorite things in your houses on your blogs. I tag anyone that wants to do this.

Casper and Green Day

The past few weeks have been extremely busy. The end of February Jason and I decided that we just needed out of Evanston for a couple of days. Luckily my mom and dad were heading to Casper for the weekend for state wrestling. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of sweaty boys rolling around on top of each other I was up for anything and excited to watch my cousin Karsten. Karsten is a freshman in high school this year. Wrestling has been a huge part of his life from the time he could walk. Earlier this year I was able to watch him wrestle at a tournament here in Evanston that he took 1st in. He lost his second match at state by 1 point sending him into the losers bracket. I was so proud of him he was able to come back for third place and pin the kid that beat him the day before. He wrestled 6 matches at state and pinned 5 out of the 6 kids he wrestled. I've been waiting to post his pics but I haven't been able to get them off my mom's camera so I decided to do my post anyway. Anyway CONGRATS KARSTEN.... I wish I could have placed 3rd at state as a senior and you did it as a freshman!
Anyone that knows my dad you'd better not under-estimate his ability to find some kind of big game animal in any city he visits. We went for a drive and this is what we were lucky enough to see.
Come here deer!

The next weekend we went back to Casper with Jason's mom to watch state basketball. It was a lot of traveling to go again but we love basketball. We watched 8 games in one day and never got bored.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY... I sincerely enjoy this holiday. I don't know if it's because I don't feel pressure to spend money or because I like pinching people not wearing green but it is a fun day for me. Tonight when we got home from the gym Jason asked what we should have for dinner? Of course I wanted green eggs and ham but we settled for green waffles instead.
As you can see Jason was not as excited as me about this meal.
I can't have waffles without bananas.
The final product.... Isn't it beautiful? Okay maybe not but I think it is appropriate for the day in celebration.
